Re: RARA-AVIS: American Pulp

Fri, 31 Jul 1998 05:06:07 +0000 Gorman also edited several volumes called _Dark Crimes_ for Carroll and
Graf. Each has a full-length novel and a good supply of short and not so
short crime stories. I have three or four of these volumes, all of them
bought as remainders not that long ago from Hamilton's mail catalog.

There is also a wonderful volume called _Hollywood Kills_ edited by
Gorman and others, which has the wonderful noir novel _Death Out of
Focus_ by William Campbell Gault, with stories by Fritz Leiber, John
Jakes, etc. - all taking place in or around Hollywood. I've seen this
one as a remainder, too. The Gault novel, long unavailable, is worth the
few bucks you may pay for this book.
