RARA-AVIS: Movie Industry Wimps?

Wed, 29 Jul 1998 17:03:16 -0700 (PDT) Mark, I don't think that the movie industry was wussing out. During the
Red Scare, it was the industry itself that came up with the Blacklist in
order to take the power away from the government to police it, putting it
squarely in the hands of the industry. I think that this can also be seen
in the Hays Office.

Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean,
who is neither tarnished nor afraid... He must be the best man
in his world and a good enough man for any world.
