Re: RARA-AVIS: Brit Writers in the US

Mon, 27 Jul 1998 09:21:50 -0400 When ordering books in French or English that aren't easily available to US
bookstores, I've had excellent service from Bonder Bookstore in Montreal.
They have an Internet site at

www.bonder.com

However, there is no search engine to use as a "Books In Print." You can
Email an order via webmaster@bonder.com, or place an order by telephone or
fax.

I usually determine what I want to order by checking out publisher's sites
to find ISBNs and such. For those interested in French books, you can find
descriptions and ISBNs through the alapage.com site, whose URL is,
interestingly enough,

http://www.alapage.tm.fr/

I appreciate your reminding me about Brit books in Canadian bookstores;
if nothing else it should cut down on the horrendous shipping costs.
I've dealt with a few used stores in Canada, but can anyone recommend a
good Canadian new bookstore on-line?
