I read Kent Harrington's DARK RIDE based on the recommendation
of a list
member. Very dark, modern take in a Thompsonesque/James M. Cain
vein. I
understand his follow up DEOS DE LAS MUERTAS is even darker.
Harrington is
definitely a man to be reckoned with for the next millenium.
Another good
contemporary read was Robert Eversz's SHOOTING ELVIS. Mr.
Eversz was touting
this book here on the list awhile back, for good reason.
