I only note a bestseller bias in the publishing world, I'm
afraid. But I hope that you attempt to interview Donna Tartt, whose _Secret
History_ was a very original murder novel, as well as an ambitious novel on
it's own terms. Not HB (though unpleasant in theme), but not at all cozy
either. Her tangential reference to Chandler in the text leads me to suspect
that she is a "fellow traveler" of ours. She certainly understands the
mechanics of a police interrogation better than most writers of either school.
