RARA-AVIS: Mystery writers and Joe McCarthy

Wed, 15 Jul 1998 07:31:57 +0000 I certainly do not want to start another political debate on this
group but as I am interested in the McCarthy era, I would like to
know:
Were there any other authors next to Spillane who openly supported
Joe McCarthy and the communist-hunt in their books?

BTW, I never saw Spillane as a too close McCarthy supporter.
If I remember "One Lonely Night" right, the McCarthy-like figure
turned out to be a kind of 1940's Moriarty...

Regards
Frank
