RARA-AVIS: Re Books on tape

Mon, 8 Jun 1998 23:29:15 -0500 (CDT) I recommend David Dukes' reading of Robert B. Parker's _Double Deuce_.
(Dove). He does an acceptable job of all the voices, and a first rate job
of catching the pauses and intonations that shape Parker's humor.

I gather some difficulties in locating books on tape, and then some
disappointments? Before you plunge to buy, don't overlook your public
library. Some of them have built considerable collections; in my little
town of Shawnee, OK (also near Hillerman birthplace), one of our
video-rental shops has even started stocking books on tape too.
