Re: RARA-AVIS: Books on tape

MARK SULLIVAN (ANONYMEINC@webtv.net)
Sun, 7 Jun 1998 22:35:31 -0400 (EDT) There are two readings I know of by Derek Raymond. One is a full-length
CD of Raymond (Cook) reading from "I Was Dora Suarez," with musical
accompaniment by James Johnston and Terry Edwards (of the British rock
group Gallon Drunk). The CD is called "Dora Suarez" and is on the
British label Clawfist (I don't know if it is still in print).

The other recording was made at a public reading just a day or two
before Raymond's death. He read from "He Died with His Eyes Open."
This is available on a double CD called "3 Fingers and a Fumb." This
is a compilation made during "Disobey," a series of performances, mostly
music, hosted by the British label Blast First. It also contains
readings by Iain Sinclair and Stewart Home.

I know this doesn't quite fit in here, but Irvine Welsh has taped
readings from some of his works, including "Trainspotting."
