It's not for me to give advice - but I think you are making a mistake in
judging these books by looking at their covers. Skinner's books are
built for comfort, not for speed. He is a fine novelist with a
sure-footed, deliberate way of developing his themes and characters.
He's not flashy, but his stuff is nice and solid. I cannot imagine
anyone not liking Skinner. But again, who am I to give advice?
