Different strokes for different folks, de gustibus, etc.

But I am not surprise that you find the prose uninteresting --- there is almost none. Leonard writes almost totally in dialogue.

While I agree that the opening of Freaky Deaky is very funny, I admit to almost busting a gut reading the opening chapter of
Maximum Bob.
