Re: RARA-AVIS: On The Left Coast

Tue, 3 Mar 1998 13:25:29 -0800 Just wanted to say Left Coast Crime was a blur and a blast. It was
great meeting Mari Hall and all the other friendly folk down there, but
Frank Denton - where were you? Between the booze and the sleep
deprivation I either missed speaking with you or spoke with you and
didn't realize who you were. Were you there? Did we meet? Are we still
friends? There are definitely chunks of time missing from my memory of
the weekend. It's a bit noir, isn't it?

Someone listed having read THE POET and the first three Bosch books by
Mike Connelly. You must read the fourth book, THE LAST COYOTE. I think
it's the best Bosch (but I like them all). Even for readers unfamiliar
with the series, LAST COYOTE would be a recommended read. It's so well
written that you don't need to have read the first three to understand
or enjoy it (but it helps). It would have made a fine stand-alone.
Instead it is a high point in an excellent series.

Kudos to the LCC staff for putting on a great show!
