Wed, 07 Jan 1998 09:50:25 +0000 Eddie Duggan, inquiring about "Dark Ride":

<<This sounds like it might be up a street that I'm interested in at the
moment; who's it by? (and, besides being 'a very sober guy', who's
Michael Connelly?)>>

The author is Kent Harrington and the novel "Dark Ride", his first, was
published in 1996 by St. Martin's Press, ISBN 0-312-13955-1 (this is the
hardcover, apparently already remaindered).

The blurb from Michael Connelly:

"Dark Ride is a gripping tale that takes you into the dark and violent
heart of obsession. It reads like Jim Thompson interpreted by Quentin
Tarantino. This one puts a chilling finger down your spine."

About Michael Connelly:

He is a celebrated author of suspenseful police procedurals (a series
featuring L.A. cop Harry Bosch), the serial-killer novel "The Poet", and
a recent book whose title I forget (I haven't read it). He is one of the
finest and most consistent mystery authors to appear in the past decade
on this side of the Atlantic. My favorite Connelly book is "The Concrete
Blonde" - but all of his books are excellent.
