I like this idea of sharing hardboiled holiday gifts. Santa
(aka my mom)
got me several vintage crime pbs, incl. a beautiful copy of
A.A. Fair's
(Gardner's) *Give 'em the Ax*, a Dell mapback, and M.
Avallone's *Crazy
Mixed-Up Corpse*, a Gold Medal. Of course I santa-fied myself
the other
day by buying SIX new Day Keene novels which a
bookstore-owner-friend of
mine procured for me. I nearly hugged him when he pulled them
out from
