As long as we're discussing the influence of hard-boiled and
noir in
alternative fiction, I can point out one excellant example of
cyberpunk with
heavy influences: Neil Stephenson's _Snow Crash_. This novel,
whose main plot
involves a murder committed via cyberspace, is as noirish as
_Blade Runner_.
