Thu, 20 Nov 1997 14:20:02 -0500 (EST) I'm still digesting the comments about Acting Noir. I enjoyed CITIZEN KANE
much. TOUCH OF EVIL was painful to watch. How much work am I supposed to put
into a film to enjoy it? Not much. I really don't want a movie to be an
acquired taste. I enjoy movies of all flavors. Recently I saw Burt Lancaster
in THE SWIMMER. Bothered me then and haunts me now. Very watchable. Just
this past weekend I rented THE ARRANGEMENT with Kirk Douglas, Deborah Kerr
and Faye Dunaway. Directed by Elia Kazan. Ouch. A few good scenes, bits of
dialogue but really pretentious, badly edited and just plain annoying. I
left my friends to watch the last 1/4 of it and went to bed. There are
better films to rent.

I really enjoyed THE PHANTOM LADY and BLUE ANGEL.
