RARA-AVIS: Re: Groucho, P.I. , Frogs, Hammett

Kevin Smith (kvnsmith@total.net)
Sun, 26 Oct 1997 13:44:59 -0400 Thanks, James and Lesserkind, for pointing me in the right direction in
the quest for Groucho's portrayals of gumshoes. He was Wolf J. Flywheel
in The Big Store (1941) and Sam Grunion in Love Happy (1949), which
featured Marilyn Monroe as a client. Needless to say, not the most
hardboiled of films, neither will be confused with The Maltese Falcon.
I'll be incorporating the info on my website, soon.

And, once again, if anyone's interested in contributing to it, please
contact me. It'll be a list of appearances of private eyes, and other
assorted types, in all media.

I'll be posting the site privately at first (probably this week), so if
anyone wants the URL, please e-mail me directly at kvnsmith@total.net.

Oh, and whether Steve minds or not, calling someone a frog isn't
particularly witty, or even nice. But merci for pointing out the Hammett
in Montana site.

Salut!
Kevin Smith
