At Barnes & Noble the other day I picked up a new anthology published by
Barnes & Noble Books: _Pulp_Fictions_, edited by Peter Haining. It's
hardback, and I've already removed the price sticker and can't remember
the exact price, but I think it was around $6. 331 pages. Stories by
James Ellroy, Carroll John Daly (I'd always thought it was John Carroll
Daly), Hammett, Chandler, Robert Leslie Bellem, Ross Macdonald,
MacKinlay Kantor, Cornell Woolrich, Peter Cheyney, Spillane, McBain,
Elmore Leonard, W.R. Burnett, James M. Cain, Samuel Fuller, James Hadley
Chase, David Goodis, Jim Thompson, Stephen King, and Quentin Tarantino.
The last inclusion isn't really a story, it's Christopher Walken's
(in)famous monologue from the movie PULP FICTION, in which he tells the
young Bruce Willis about his father's watch. --Duane
