RARA-AVIS: Cornell Woolrich question

I'm reading Cornell Woolrich for the first time. It's "Rear Window and
Other Stories," published by Penguin.

The little foreword note/dedication by Sheldon Abend mentions the
"landmark copyright case commenced in 1983 and culminated on April 24,
1990. . . ." Can anyone explain what this case was about and how it's
connected with these stories?

My next question: This volume includes no publication info on these
stories' original appearance. Can anyone supply date and magazine names
for 'em:
"Rear Window"
"Post-Mortem"
"Three O'Clock"
"Change of Murder"
"Momentum"

Finally, what is the "so-called Black Series of suspense novels"
mentioned in the very brief author's note in this book?
Thanks in advance.--Duane Spurlock
