Re: RARA-AVIS: Re: Michael Connelly



I, too, have read several of the Connolly novels after seeing them
recommended here. They are more in the police procedural area and are
okay, but not great. They generally give a fairly pessimistic view of
life in our times, dealing as they do with murders and the rather
depressing life of a touch, capable homicide detective named Bosch
(great name, that). TRUNK MUSIC, the latest, I believe, is worth
reading, but no new ground is plowed here. The author is not John D.
MacDonald, nor James Ellroy, for that matter, but he know a few good
stories and tells them well.
