RARA-AVIS: Introduction

I am a cyberspace opera impresaria. I have read murder mysteries for
years. I enjoy English Cozies better than hardboiled but I like people who
like hardboiled and I like discussions about mysteries so I'm lurking on
this list. My cyberspace name, honoria, comes from Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord
Peter Wimsey mystery series. Honoria is Lord Peter's mum, the Dowager
Duchess of Denver. I've read and appreciated hardboiled classics, Chandler
and Hammett, but the more recent hb stuff I don't read. I've tried to read
them and I get sick. I think they try to gross one out before they engage
one in the story, so I stick to the soft soft soft and sometimes funny
murder mysteries. I also appreciate the fact that murder mystery writing is
a robust woman-full field. I don't have much time to read mysteries these
days because of the commitments of producing the opera but I'm enjoying
your discussions on this list.

Love song & fleurish, honoria
