I read PARIAH yesterday, and I have to say it was an *incredible* read. I read it over the span of one afternoon -- something time and my choice of books have rarely afforded me the opportunity and desire, respectively, to do recently. It's simply been quite some time since a book has grabbed me in the way PARIAH did. The ol' I-couldn’t-put-it-down saying isn't always clichéd nonsense; this is compelling, compulsive, white-hot reading. I'm a big fan of Dave's work, but even to me PARIAH seemed a significant leap forward for him. Yes, there were a few points that were a bit over-the-top, but that's just part and parcel of Dave's work; they certainly didn't detract from the book. In fact, because of the "manuscript" format of this particular work, such outlandish, boastful points did not at all seem out of place.

I'm placing this one in my Top Reads of the Year list.

    Ron C.
