Years ago when a couple of my westerns were reprinted by Ballantine, I met
the editor, who told me that Ballantine would no longer be doing westerns.
I said that my books had done pretty well and even gone into a second
printing. She said that it was true that the western line was doing okay
and was making money. "But," she said, "it's not making ENOUGH money."
