    Dave, This doesn't strike me as a particularly new plot, either. In fact, though it might not usually be a cop, the someone investigating a murder done during period of missing memory seems pretty common. Goodis, for instance, used the amnesia ploy in the one with a graphic artist -- Nightfall, maybe? Mark
