    I guess the Guardian has found it's much easier (and attention grabbing) to make lists like these as opposed to actually reviewing the recent UK crime fiction offerings (hint, Pariah!). Seriously, hard to take a list like this seriously when they have only one Jim Thompson novel (The Getaway) and many fine, but noncrime fiction novels (like Crichton's Jurasik Park, among others).
