Anyone else read this? It came out earlier this year and it's a pretty
interesting read, and Freeman is definitely a talented author. The
book's kind of a mythical tale told as a Vermont backwaters crime
story with very mannered dialog, a bit like a David Mamet play. A
woman's being threatened by Blackway, a dangerous ex-cop criminal who
runs roughshod over the community, and she's sent with two protectors
on what amounts to a quest to slay this villain. It's a short book,
160 pages, and it's worth the read.
