RARA-AVIS: The Stark covers

I don't think they are really all that bad, rather nice, I should say, but they do make you think of a different age than the sixties and the seventies. There's a mixture of the fourties and fifties' more noirish world of cinema - and even a touch of European surrealism (in the mirror of the cover of THE GETAWAY FACE). I think the pistol is quite striking, and if they stick to it throughout the series, it's pretty good.

But they are not Hard Case Crime covers (or even the covers of our paperbacks, ehem ehem). At least they don't look as bad as Stark House books.
