I really enjoyed A STIR OF ECHOES by Matheson. There's a noir
feel to it, but it's closer to writers like Ursula Curtiss
and maybe Charlotte Armstrong - it's quite subtle and quiet.
I'm sorry to say that I haven't read THE SHRINKING MAN (I
think that's the original title, the "incredible" came with
the film and has stuck.)
But I AM LEGEND is a book that every noir and hardboiled fan
should read.
