Ray Shannon (Gar Anthony Haywood) wrote Firecracker about a Dallas Cowboys tight end who's broke because of bad real estate deals and pursued by a drug dealer and a very pregnant one-night stand. That could be a noir plot, but that's not the way the book goes. Hardboiled and funny and good.
