Juri,
I recall that, in the ghost-written (or at least
ghost-collaborated) Saint books, Charteris always gave full
credit to the authors who did the actual writing.
In a series of three or four books derived from original
scripts from the Roger Moore TV series, for example, a writer
named Fleming Lee was credited.
Charteris wrote fairly lengthy prefaces to these books
explaining who wrote the scripts (Harry Kuttner in some
cases), who wrote the prose novelizations (Lee), and who did
the final draft (Charteris himself).
From this, I inferred that, if there was no forward crediting
a ghost, Charteris wrote the book himself.
