Macdonald's later Lew Archer books from THE GALTON CASE
onwards often get the most attention. My favourites, though,
are the earlier Archer novels, where there's more of a
Chandler influence. For specific books, I like THE DROWNING
POOL and THE WAY SOME PEOPLE DIE.
