In addition to Lau's LOST LIGHT recommendation, which I
endorse, not to mention THE LAST GOOD KISS...
There are plenty of Chandler wannabes that I recognize as
such that I still enjoy reading as a change of pace from time
to time. I don't want to name names and be pejorative about
them, because they are fun books to read.
Maybe I should be re-reading Crime and Punishment with my
spare time, but there are times when a modernized Chandler
pastiche fits the bill. Shirley I am not alone in this.
