******************************************************* Of
course you're right, Mark. I used the word "clumsy" to accede
to Kevin that I understood his point. The correct description
is "heavy handed." KISS ME DEADLY is heavy handed as is TOUCH
OF EVIL, THE STRANGER, CITIZEN KANE and almost every film
Wells made. But also like them, it is a brilliant viewing
experience. When it comes to noir, subtlety is over rated...
and maybe nonexistant.
