I've been off the computer for a few days and when I rebooted
the thing I must have triggered a memory clitch or something
because I found dozens and dozens of old posts about The Long
Goodbye in my mailbox, most of them old rants by the beloved
Jim Doherty who left us a month or so ago for greener
pastures.
I'm not sure which of the twenty or so monotonous rounds of
debate these posts are from. Many of the posts even appear to
be duplications of duplications, because the same crazy
notions just kept getting repeated over and over again. Jim
almost seemed fanatical in his lonely need to prove himself
right. He was like Don Quixote, tilting at a windmill, only
to find it was just a much beloved movie. Not a giant. Sad
really.
Man, do I miss that guy. I hope he's okay, no matter where
they put him.
