Somewhere along the line, I lost track of two authors I had
read pretty regularly, Ian Rankin and Michael Connelly. I
recently decided to do something about that and read the next
by each (I try to read in order, can be kind of anal about
it): The Falls and Void Moon.
The Falls was great, can't imagine why it's been so long
since I've read Rankin. His books get longer, but the added
length is absolutely essential as his plots and
characterization become more and more intricate. I'll be
reading Resurrection Men very soon.
Void Moon was a good caper novel, even if some of the
surprises were not early as surprising as I think they were
supposed to be. Still, I very much enjoyed it, but not as
much as his Bosch novels. The next of his for me to read is
Darkness More Than Night. I'm pretty sure that's a Bosch
novel.
I'm currently reading Die A Little. After all of the praise
for Megan Abbott here, I had to check her out. I've barely
started it, not nearly enough to form an opinion yet, but I
do like her voice very much (and I'm usually not much of a
fan of novels set in the past).
I've also recently picked up books by two listmembers, the
latert from Allan Guthrie and Dave Zeltserman.
