William Ahearn wrote about my comment that some of Chandler's movies are considered noir:

Again, I mean this in all seriousness and not in any way being a wisenheimer but . . . considered by whom?

******************* The only reason you ask about who considers some of Chandler's movies to be noir is so I can play the straight man for your lead-in to why it isn't noir. The first place I looked was IMDB. The Big Sleep is
#8. Link below.

My guess is that I can find a dozen more references to The Big Sleep as noir.

If you are looking for some personal definition of noir removed from common usage, go for it. If you want to convince the world your definition is right, good luck.
