. . . introduce myself. A while back I was on this list and
got into several heated discussions about noir and its
definition. After leaving the group, I delved into research
about the origins of noir and discovered some interesting
material. Everything is well-documented and links are
provided where the sources are available on the internet. The
essay is titled "Out of the Past: A Truer Story of the Origin
of Film Noir."
