To complete the cycle, On the Waterfront was also made into a
play that appeared briefly on Broadway about fifteen years
ago. It's possible that James Gandolfini played the union
boss. The odd thing was that the emphasis was shifted from
the Terry Malloy character to the young woman and the priest.
In those roles, Penelope Ann Miller and David Morse were the
top-lined stars of the production.
