RARA-AVIS: Rural Settings

Steve Hamilton in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, John Rickards in rural New England and Peter Bowen's Metis fiddler/cattle brand inspector Gabriel Du Pre does plenty of investigating in rural Montana. In my favourite book of the series, Specimen Song, Du Pre's travels take him on a canoe trip from La Ronge in northern Saskatchewan to York Facory on Hudson Bay. That should be rural enough for anyone.
