Bought this a couple years ago and finally got around to
reading it. It was an improvement over the last one I read of
his, but I don't see the magic I saw in the early ones. It
could be that the newness is worn off for me. I first
discovered Vachss just browsing in Barnes and Nobles, so it
was a cool discovery. The unusual characters and vigilante
intensity are not something I commonly found at Barnes and
Nobles. I think I might go back and reread some of his first
books, but I think I'm calling it quits on the rest.
