RARA-AVIS: Hoboes: David Markson

I seem to remember that David Markson's PI hero in the two books he wrote in the late fifties and early sixties is something of a hobo. Am I correct?

I haven't read Bob Du Soe's DEVIL THUMBS A RIDE, nor seen the film, but is there a hobo? A hitch-hiker most surely, as is also in Ida Lupino's marvellously tight, eh, dammit, whatsitsname? THE HITCH-HIKER?
