just wanted to say hello to the members of this group. when i
read that there's a david goodis tribute coming in january, i
had to join. i just read my first Goodis novel, "Of Tender
Sin," and enjoyed the contrast between the hard-boiled mood
and action with practically Dostoyeskyean interior monlogues
(anybody think he's over the top?). now i am hungry for more.
i prefer old paperbacks. i like the portability. and the
covers.
one more thing: mary (a.k.a. marty) holland. does anyone know
anything about her? the only info. i can find claims that she
is a complete cipher. i have her three novels. i would love
to find a copy of her short story "the file on thelma
jordan," if anyone knows where i could find it. anything else
exist of hers out there? thanks.
