RARA-AVIS: Re: recent finds

I am currently reading "Guilty Bystander" by W Miller. I think you are right it is the first Max Thursday book. Haven't read anything else by WM so cannot compare. Doesn't feel particularly dark though (not more than expected). Have read about half by now, so far a solid read, intelligent writing, but don't know what kind of twists are waiting. But seems to be a book I will be quite satisfied with when finished.
