much the same distinction as talking a load of old balls or a
load of old bollocks.
'shite' was a northern word/pronounciation, but has spread
inexorably south. now it's really an emphasis thing, with
maybe 'shite' having a lighter tone.
so you could say someone is 'talking shite' without offending
them as much as if they were 'talking shit'.
