I just read that part of Bust, complete with the comments
about the public reaction to the swans being killed vs. the
Tinkers, both cases solved by Jack Taylor in the earlier
book. It sent me flipping through Tinkers to see if I had
missed Dillon, or if he had appeared under a different name,
as Brant did in Tinkers. Thanks for confirming he's a
original creation.
So far I'm really enjoying Bust. I was a bit afraid the seams
might show, since your two writing styles are pretty
different, but I haven't found any. I do like that the book
retains one of my favorite Bruen-isms (though I bet you wrote
some of them), having a character think something, then say
the exact same thing out loud -- it cracks me up every
time.
