Ir was nominated for best 1st of 1963 but lost to Cornelius
Hirschberg's FLORENTINE FINISH, sort-of-private-eye novel
featuring Saul Handy, Chicago
PI-turned-NYC-diamond-salesman.
Hirschberg was even more of a one-hit wonder than Ullman.
FINISH was his only book, AFAIK.
That might also be a good MYSTERY FILE article. 1st novel
Edgar winners who were never heard from again.
