Re: RARA-AVIS: "female noir"

Hi, Keith, I think they might have just been feeding me that commercial idea about the detective, knowing that if they bluntly asked me to get rid of the sex scene, I would balk. I didn't figure that out till later. Let me see if I can find that first chapter. I might be able to copy it and send a file, if you really want to see it. I also have a very early version of that which I egotistically put into a literary magazine I was editing. I have a big box full of those. It also has an interview with Harry Crews and an original story by John Dufresne, and part of a novel of Larry Brown that was never published anywhere else. I would be happy to give those to anybody who would be willing to send a self-addressed envelope. If anyone is interested, send me an e-mail and I'll send you the address where to send the envelope. You know, at the time, I was so sick of Sherri and thought she was at a dead end, but as time goes on a sequel might be fun. I wonder if a publisher would be interested in that idea. Thanks for bringing it up. Vicki
