Hi, folks.
I'm trying to help someone find a
book - probably a slasher novel, although I suppose true
crime is possible. Here is what they recall about the
prologue:
"A young woman was walking home from work late one night, and
she started to feel that she wasn't alone. Suddenly a man
grabbed her, he either scalped her or gouged out her eyes or
both, the last thing she heard before dying was the sound of
her neck breaking. I am sorry I dont know any names or
places, this is all I remember. I can tell you that the book
was in paperback in 1995. I hope that helps. I believe the
cover was done all in black."
Sounds like a fairly standard opening gambit for a slasher
novel, but I post it here in case any of you read it and have
some intestinal memory of the scene.
Thanks for your help, my
apologies for cross-posting.
