I started The Mulching of America and couldn't go on. It was
something about the tone and humor, I think, somehow
irritating. I had noticed Crews' writing starting to go
downhill, and this one slipping further made me too upset to
keep going. It's been a long time--since it came out--so my
memory isn't good, but I'm probably talking more about
character than plot. After that, Celebration was back up
again on my list.
