M. Moulessehoul (aka Y. Khadra) is a superb writer whose scope goes into other avenues than the roman policier. His autobio that I¹m presently reading in french is wonderfully written, with a kind of crafted language that you see rarely anymore (in any language). The name of this book is:
³L¹ɣrivain: Une Enfance Alg鲩enne² (The writer: an algerian chilhood) in which he describes his early years with his family and his years as a
Œcadet¹ in military academy as a very young child (10-14). A must read, just like Vasquez Montalban is a must read for anybody who would like to plunge into foreign noir...and Montalban is translated in english too...
