That does sound like a good idea! However, I think it was a
Bouchercon conference, and I had been told to "crash" the
"Bad Girls" panel by the moderator. My name wasn't listed and
I was supposed to pretend to join uninvited by bringing my
own name plate and chair up on stage. Apparently, most of the
panelists were okay with it, but besides the costuming, I
also brought a banana and a beer with me as props, and when I
tried to pass the beer down the line, the woman next to me
told me that I was upstaging and I should stop. Some people
take these things very seriously for bookselling, I guess.
I'm always in it for the fun. Vicki
Vicki, this woman sounds like one of those writers who
manages to suck the air out of the room with their own
self-importance. Her books are probably no more fun than she
is. Yours, however, are great fun. Thanks for dropping in to
say hello. You can pass the beer down the line on rara-avis
